Ham Drive Nursery School and Day Care and Plym Bridge Nursery School and Day Care form the Plymouth Nursery School Federation (PNSF). We have a single governing body that helps to ensure the very best education and care for our children and families.
THE ROLE OF THE GOVERNING BODY
All schools must have a governing body as required by government regulations. It is made up of parents, representatives from the local community and members of the School and Day Care staff. All members give their time voluntarily.
Our aim is to assist in ensuring Ham Drive and Plym Bridge provide the best care and early years education for your children. We are responsible for the recruitment of schools' staff, approving school policies and supporting the implementation of the plans set out by our staff to aid the teaching and learning of our children.
The Governing Body welcomes feedback from the schools' families. As parents and carers you are welcome to raise any issues or concerns through your Parent Governor representatives, who you can contact through your school’s administrator.
HOW OFTEN ARE THE MEETINGS?
The full governing body meets regularly throughout the academic year to hear reports from the Headteacher and her staff on the schools’ performance. We question, discuss and refine any proposals. In addition to this, the Finance and Premises Committee also meets 3 times a year.
THE FINANCE AND PREMISES COMMITTEE
The aim of the Finance and Premises Committee is to assist the Headteacher with the detail of the financial aspects of the overall "Strategic Plan". The committee is also responsible for monitoring the condition of the premises and ensuring that any plans for developing the physical space are considered in line with the values and aims of the Federation.
